Trade Analyst, Conusmer Health

 

Position Summary:

The Trade Analyst will be responsible for analytics, insights, and trade strategy executions to support revenue targets and optimize performance.  The Trade Analyst is accountable for identifying opportunities and mitigating risks to drive growth of the brands through on-going analysis of consumption, shipment, trade and financial data, and competitive intelligence.  Post-analytical reporting to maximize future success is critical. This role works closely with multiple cross-functional internal (local and global) teams including: Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and Tech Ops.  As well, this role will collaborate directly with our Broker partner.

Avrio Health is the Consumer Health Division of Purdue Pharma (Canada). Elvium Life Sciences and Avrio Health are subsidiaries of Purdue Pharma (Canada). This role will be employed by Purdue Pharma (Canada).

Key Responsibilities:

 

Analytics and Insights

  • Responsible for regularly analyzing, reporting and presenting key strategic insights, utilizing shipment and consumption data, and marrying data with consumer research
  • Provide analytics and insights to support account planning, customer presentations and business reviews
  • Support Sales at meetings with retail partners (Category Managers) to share category and brand data and insights, and provide recommendations on growth opportunities
  • Perform ongoing ROI analysis across trade executions to ensure optimal performance of activities and inform decision-making on whether to anniversary activities

 

Strategy

  • Recommend ways to optimize trade strategy
  • Contribute to marketing plans with category analysis and customer strategy
  • Work with Marketing to develop retail promotional strategies in line with brand priorities and manage execution across customers
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales and Tech Ops in the development of secondary placement vehicles

 

Planning, Modelling, Tracking & Reporting

  • Create financial models and track progress
  • Take part in annual planning process, including financial analysis
  • Contribute to forecast accuracy via timely and accurate input into forecasting process including, providing input for the monthly S&OP meetings
  • Reporting, tracking and analysis of trade spend to inform decision-making
  • Recommend sku assortment and shelf placement priorities

 

Business Intelligence

  • Understand retailer margin and pricing expectations and support determination of new product pricing and/or price increases
  • Bring attention to any business risks and/or opportunities
  • Provide competitive brand intelligence
  • Create monthly Nielsen/IQVIA reports and management dashboards, including KPI’s
  • Create ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A university education in Business. MBA in Business Administration considered an asset
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Trade Marketing, Category Management, Marketing, Sales or Finance. Consumer health experience considered an asset
  • Strong financial acuity with P&L familiarity
  • Superior analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to find key insights from data and research and build sound, strong recommendations
  • Experience with Nielsen/IQVIA data is required
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with proven capabilities of implementing new approaches, breaking convention, and thinking differently
  • Superior communication capabilities, including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to think and operate both strategically and tactically
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work load and manage time successfully
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills required
  • Detail oriented and ability to manage complexity and change
